  • Plan to attend Multnomah County Library's International Literacy Day Celebration at the Midland Library, 805 SE 122nd Ave on Saturday, Sept 10, 1:00-4:00pm. This is event honors nonprofits and community-based organizations who serve people preparing for the GED, applying for US Citizenship, learning English and working to improve their reading skills.  See the Multnomah County Library's website for more information.

Volunteer Literacy Tutor Conference

On March 19, 2016, Portland Literacy Council was pleased to co-sponsor the 2016 Volunteer Literacy Tutor Conference on the Reed College Campus.


This conference supports Volunteer Literacy Tutors by offering a forum to exchange ideas, develop new teaching strategies, and hone tutoring skills. Volunteer Literacy Tutors in the Portland Metropolitan area provide one-to-one and group tutoring sessions to adult learners.
